What to do in Basel? Visit Spalenberg!

Welcome to Spalenberg, a lot of local's favourite place where you can dive in to what Basel is all about! You will be able to enter Spalenberg if you search "Hotel Basel", which is located at one of the entry points. Spalenberg is full of traditional Basel houses, many cafés and quirky boutiques. The other end of Spalenberg is Spalentor, an old and picturesque city gate.

There are many boutiques and small shops that invite to be visited, even though you might not need their products at the very moment. One example is a Christmas shop that is open year round called Johann Wanner. If you visit Spalenberg you must try a cheese tart, which is a speciality from Basel. On famous bakery that offers cheese tarts is called Gilgen.

Spalenberg is also famous for its cafés and bars, where you can take a break from the many impressions.
